The first step and how it works
Looking for a therapist can be a difficult quest and it is normal that it may take some time and a few false starts. I am happy to be contacted through email or telephone to answer any questions or first step worries.
The initial consultation is an opportunity to get clarity on what you are hoping to achieve in therapy and gain insight into the way I work. It may be that you are looking for short term counselling (12 sessions) or long term, open ended support. Sessions last for 50 minutes and usually take place weekly on a specific time and day.
At the end of this initial consultation, you will be able to decide whether to arrange further sessions with me. I am not going to be the right therapist for every individual, but I have a network of colleagues and will do my best to help people looking for a help starting the process of therapy.
